Our Team

Dr. Achim Wennmann is the Editor of the Geneva Policy Outlook and has led the strategic development of this initiative as part of his functions as Director for Strategic Partnerships of the Geneva Graduate Institute. He is also Senior Researcher at the Institute’s Centre on Conflict, Development and Peacebuilding (CCDP) and Lecturer in Conflict, Peace and Security Track of the Institute's Interdisciplinary Programme. Achim has over 20 years of experience in strategic management of complex projects across research, policy, and practitioner communities and has served in multiple advisory roles for international organisations, companies, foundations, governments.


Léna Rieder-Menge is the Communications and Community Building Manager for the Geneva Policy Outlook as part of her functions as Manager of Strategic Partnerships and Public Relations at the Geneva Graduate Institute. She also manages the Advancing Development Goals International Contest, also known as The Geneva Challenge. In parallel to her work, she is the Co-Founder and President of FLAG21, a Geneva based association aiming to facilitate the social inclusion of refugees through sport. She holds a Master’s degree in Diplomacy and Foreign Policy from City University of London and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Geneva.


Dr. Xinyu Yuan is the Academic Coordinator for the Geneva Policy Outlook. She is a Post-doc Researcher at the Centre on Conflict, Development and Peacebuilding (CCDP), and visiting lecturer for the Interdisciplinary Master Programme (MINT) of the Geneva Graduate Institute. She holds a Ph.D. in International Relations and Political Science from the Geneva Graduate Institute. Her research on rising powers, peacebuilding and peacekeeping, norm contestation, and competitive socialization has been published in reputable journals.


Gabriel Gomes Couto is the Operations Coordinator for the Geneva Policy Outlook. He is also an Advisor for Sustainability and Climate Change at the Peace Dividend Initiative. Specialised in peace mediation, climate security, and environmental peacebuilding, he holds a Master’s degree in Development Studies from the Geneva Graduate Institute and a Bachelor's degree in International Relations from the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil.


Swetha Ramachandran is the Editorial Coordinator and Language Editor for the Geneva Policy Outlook. She is a doctoral researcher in the Department of International Relations/Political Science at the Geneva Graduate Institute and works as a Researcher/Data Scientist with UNIDIR. Her research explores the politics of aid financing in West Africa. She was a former Consultant for the International Labour Organization and UNU-WIDER. She previously worked as a development professional in Sierra Leone, South Sudan, DRC and Lesotho. She holds a Masters degree from Johns Hopkins SAIS in Washington DC.
